DIY

Flower crowns have been very popular ever since Lana del Rey wore one on her cover photo. I’ve been searching for the perfect one for ages, but I haven’t found any I fancy. So I decided to make one myself! Its perfect for a special occasion or if you just want to feel pretty. The cost depends on where you get your materials.

You will need:
- Fake flowers(I bought mine at Ikea)
- Scissors
- Hotglue
- Hairband

I bought whole flowers with a stem, but you can also buy flowers from any craft store that doesn’t have a stem. It is also possible to use fresh flowers for this, it will not last that long though. Snap the flowerbuds off the stems and cut them with the scissors all the way down. Arrange the flowers on your table the way you would like them to be placed in your hair.

Take an old hairband or buy a new one, the color of your headband have to match the flowers or your intended outfit, because it will show a bit through. Next you just hotglue all the flowers to your headband. Start in the middle and make your way to the edges. Watch out for the glue, it will burn your fingers! Keep on adding flowers until you are satisfied with the look.

Here you have my finished result! Can’t wait to wear it tomorrow at a birthday bash. If you guys like my site on facebook you will get a sneakpeek on upcoming projects before they are published.

You will need:
- A white t-shirt
- Scissors
- Transfer paper(I bought mine off ebay here)
- A printer
- Sheet of baking paper
- Iron

You don’t need a new t-shirt for this, you can just as easily grab an old one. Cut off the sleves and the bottom half if you want a cropped top like mine. Just leave the edges for that unfinished look. I also cut around the neck to make the cleavage a bit lower. If you are skilled with a pair of scissors you can make for example a low cut back or even twist it if you have a sewing machine.

Next thing I did was to find the image I wanted to transfer onto my shirt. The background of the image will be the same color on the shirt, so if you have white background you also need a white t-shirt. Print it out on the transfer paper, do not mirror it! Cut out the image as a square or cut out each letter individually. The last option may take some time so you can watch an episode or two of your favorite tvseries while you cut. If you do this the image background doesn’t have to match the color of the t-shirt.

Now, iron your shirt and place the letters or image at the right position on the fabric. Take a sheet of baking paper and place it on top of your print, then iron over it at the highest temperature for about 20 seconds. Peel off the baking paper and let the print set for 24 hours before you throw it in the washer.

And this is my finished result, wearing it as I’m typing this. I forgot to take photos during the process so pardon me for that. The steps are pretty straight forward anyways so that should’t be a problem. The template I used here and more will be posted on the blog tomorrow, so check back in then!

You will need:
- A pair of jeans or shorts
- Scissors
- Sharp kitchen supplies like a knife, potato peeler, cheese grater etc.
- Pyramid studs, whatever color, size and quantity you choose

The first thing to do is to cut the jeans into shorts, if you already have it at the prefered hight you can skip this step. I cut mine just a little longer than I would like them so that in order for me to fold it in the end. Remember that the back and front of the shorts doesnt have to be the same height if you dont want your bum to show.

Next take your sharp objects and trash the jeans, for example on the pockets, edges, corners, or wherever you want to. Just scratch the surface or make a hole right through the fabric. Then throw the shorts into the washer to allow the edges of the shorts to fray. I used a really sharp potato peeler that I got from Ikea.

It is now time to take out the studs. Place them wherever your feel like, look up how others have done this for inspiration. I put mine in straight lines on the pocket corners. If you are a bit of a perfectionist like me, you may have to do some of the studs over again to get them in a straight line. Poke the studs through the fabric, and bend them on the backside, you can do this with either your fingers or use a knife. Just a heads up, if you apply the studs without a knife, it will ruin your nails.

The back of the fabric will look something like this, all depending on which studs you use. And now for the finished result!

You can play even more with the fabric and the studs if you like to. I chose a fairly basic design on mine, and did not dye it or anything. The possibilities are endless if you have a bit of creativity! I styled mine with a feminin white laced top to break with the harsh studs.

You will need:
- A simple bra, whatever color you want
- Pyramid studs, whatever color, size and quantity you choose
- Superglue

Firstly bend down all the spikes like shown on the picture below. Apply superglue on the bended spikes. Carefully place then on the bra wherever you want, careful to no get the glue on your fingers, it sticks very well!

It may take some time before you’re done, so be patient. My result is shown below. Now that I think of the placing I wish that I would have done them from the center and out, so that the studs show on low-cut tops/dresses. But you can also style it with a see-through blouse. Good luck!

Some of you may have noticed my new category called DIY, here I will post step by step diy-projects aswell as inspirational pictures. A piece can get a major upgrade with simple modifications, and it doesnt need to be expensive at all. The possibilities are endless, you can recreate a look from the runway, from pieces you have seen where you dont know the source or is out of stock, or simply creations you have in mind that doesnt exist anywhere else. In the creativity category I will post some of the stuff that I have made. Eventually I will have a store on Etsy or Ebay up and running where I will make and sell stuff on request, and also vintage finds.

Here are som pictures for inspiration, and I will also be making some of this stuff. Stay tuned!
